# Block settings for Tables

Block settings allow you to make structural changes and adjust different configuration options for each Block type. This article discusses the different options available for Tables.

To access the Block settings, you can do one of the following:

- In Block Explorer, you can hover over the required Block, and click on the menu (...). Click **Settings**.
- Go to the Block, then click the settings icon in the top right.

## General

These are the different settings that can be found under the General tab in Table settings.

### Details

Here you can update the **Name**of the Table, the **Folder** it is located in, and the table **Description**. The description of the Table is seen in the Block explorer section of the Application.

### Display name

You have the option to set a **Display name** for the Block. This is a more user-friendly label that replaces the **Name** everywhere in the platform, except where uniqueness is essential (in Test & Deploy contexts and in formulas). You can hover over a name to show both the Name and the Display name.

You can specify a Display name in English and/or French. The version that appears for Members depends on their [language selection](/v1/docs/change-display-language).

### Data Input

In Block settings, the Data Input section shows different configurations that be made around entering data within the Block. For Tables, the following option is available:

- **Automatically saves inputs.**The Automatically saves inputs toggle allows you to turn off and on the [Autosave functionality](/v1/docs/deactivate-autosave). This setting defines if Members inputs are put into a draft mode until the a save button is hit or if they are instantly saved. This setting always overrides the settings of the Metrics within a Table. That is, if Autosave is turned on for the Table the setting applies to all Metrics in the Table.

### Duplicate

You can duplicate a Table from this section. When duplicating a Table all views are automatically copied.

## Metrics

### Metrics within this Table

This section lists all the different Metrics that are used in the Table. Hover over a Metric to see the Metric’s data type and the Dimensions used for the Metric’s structure.

You can do the following actions:

- Click a **Metric** to open that Metric.
- Click **Change metrics** to add or remove a Metric.

> [!NOTE]
> ℹ️ **Note**
>
> If you remove a Metric from a Table, it remains in all saved Views for that Table. You need to remove the Metric from each View to ensure it's fully removed. Conversely, when you add a new Metric to a Table, you need to include that Metric in at least one View for that Table.
