# Define Essential Contacts for Urgent Notifications

Add email addresses of your choice to receive time-sensitive, security-specific notifications from Pigment.

In Workspace Settings you are able to specify email addresses to receive notifications relating to data protection, legal issues and technical security.

## Where to find Essential Contacts

Find Essential Contacts by taking these steps:

1. In any Pigment Application in your Workspace, select **Settings**, the three-dot menu at the foot of the left sidebar.
2. Select **All Settings** > **Workspace Settings** > **Security**.

## Categories and communication types

The three categories are:

1. Data Protection: Privacy matters and updates on sub-processors
2. Legal: Official legal notices
3. Security: Technical security events, including incidents, vulnerabilities, or access issues

## Who can configure this?

Only Workspace Primary Owners and Security Administrators are able to update Essential Contacts.
