# Dimension modifiers

Pigment uses modifiers to transform data in formulas. This section describes Pigment’s modifiers.

Modifiers are used to align Dimensions in your source data to the structure of your current Metric, by adding, replacing, removing, and filtering Dimensions. For more information, see [Modifiers in Modeling](/v1/docs/modifiers-in-modeling). The syntax and functionality differ, as outlined in the modifier pages indicated by each modifier name.
