The Agents work autonomously but collaboratively. You can always oversee and guide the direction they take, while they adapt to support your needs over time. > [!TIP] > **🎓** **Pigment Academy** > > To learn more about the Agentic Workforce, check out the [Introduction to Pigment’s Agentic Workforce](https://academy.pigment.com/introduction-to-pigments-agentic-workforce/532266) video. ## Activate and manage the Agents To request activation of the Agents for your Application, the Workspace Administrator or the Primary Owner must submit a [Support ticket](https://support.pigment.com/en/support/tickets/new?ticket_form=ai_feature_request). For more information, see [Set up Pigment AI](/v1/docs/pigment-ai#set-up-pigment-ai). Once activated, manage your Agents as follows: 1. In your Application, select **Settings**, the three-dot menu at the bottom of the sidebar. 2. Select **AI agents.** The **Agents** tab in the main pane shows all AI Agents available for your Application. 3. Only the Custom Agent requires further specification. See [Build and Run Custom Agents](/v1/docs/create-custom-agents) for more information. 4. The second tab in the main pane is **Missions**. Select this to see the Missions all your Agents have run. ## Where to find the Agents Talk with the Agents in **AI Chats**, found in three places: 1. On your Workspace homepage, type a prompt into the field at the top of the main pane. **AI Chats** opens when you select **Send message**. For more information, see [Navigate your Pigment Workspace](/v1/docs/pigment-workspace-navigation). 2. In your Application, look for **AI Chats** above the name of your Application in the left sidebar: ![](https://cdn.document360.io/e47cfe35-dc28-40c7-a083-6cf003073d8e/Images/Documentation/image(287).png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-26T15%3A08%3A37Z&se=2026-10-26T16%3A08%3A37Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=WEAQP4aKIUhvO3BiUSHq072bICPmLxXlUm4TKuPT%2BHg%3D) 1. Anywhere in Pigment, look for the floating AI button in the bottom left corner: ![](https://cdn.document360.io/e47cfe35-dc28-40c7-a083-6cf003073d8e/Images/Documentation/image(280).png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-26T15%3A08%3A37Z&se=2026-10-26T16%3A08%3A37Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=WEAQP4aKIUhvO3BiUSHq072bICPmLxXlUm4TKuPT%2BHg%3D) These open the **AI sidebar** to the right of the main pane, which contains tiles for each of the Agents in your Workspace. You can: - select an Agent’s tile to start chatting with it. - expand or collapse the AI sidebar by selecting the pairs of arrows in the top right corner. Expanding also opens the **AI Chats** panel. - pin a Chat, by hovering your pointer over the Chat’s name in **AI Chats**. - filter Chats by Application, by selecting the filter symbol at the top of **AI Chats**. > [!NOTE] > **ℹ️** **Note** > > Custom Agents appear in the AI sidebar only after you have created them through Settings. See [Build and Run Custom Agents](/v1/docs/create-custom-agents) for more information. ## Use the Agents The Agents largely follow this flow: 1. Choose the Agent you need: 1. The Modeler Agent helps you build, whether your goal is simple or complex, and creates Blocks and formulas accordingly. 2. The Analyst Agent helps you pull insights and conclusions from your data and design repeatable, schedulable Missions. 3. The Custom Agent helps you create your own specialized AI Agent tailored to your team's specific needs. 2. Chat with the Agent to describe your needs through natural conversation. The Agent accepts queries in over 50 languages. You can select the ![](https://cdn.document360.io/e47cfe35-dc28-40c7-a083-6cf003073d8e/Images/Documentation/image(382).png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-26T15%3A08%3A37Z&se=2026-10-26T16%3A08%3A37Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=WEAQP4aKIUhvO3BiUSHq072bICPmLxXlUm4TKuPT%2BHg%3D) **Record** symbol to record your request as a voice note. Ask your Customer Success Manager if the Record symbol does not appear in the chat input field. Prompt suggestions appear as buttons below the input field. Select a prompt to insert it into the input field or select **View all** to view the full prompt library. To use a prompt, hover over the chosen prompt and select **Use prompt**. 3. When you’ve left your Agent working on a request, look for the following notifications indicating that it’s answered: 1. a count badge by **AI Chats** in your Application’s left sidebar, giving you the total number of conversations with unread responses. 2. a blue dot in **AI Chats** and **Chat History**, by conversations with unread responses: ![](https://cdn.document360.io/e47cfe35-dc28-40c7-a083-6cf003073d8e/Images/Documentation/image(367).png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-26T15%3A08%3A37Z&se=2026-10-26T16%3A08%3A37Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=WEAQP4aKIUhvO3BiUSHq072bICPmLxXlUm4TKuPT%2BHg%3D) 4. Attach any files needed by the Agents. For more information, see [Attach files to AI Chats](/v1/docs/upload-files-to-the-agents). If you’ve given [Agents general access to Pigment Files](/v1/docs/files-in-pigment#allow-agents-general-access-to-files), you can now reference them in Chats using the Object picker: type @ to open a dropdown of eligible options. 5. (*Optional*) **Save as Mission**. This allows you to save the task to be run at a future time. 6. Refer back to Chats by selecting the **Chat History** button, the icon consisting of three lines at the top left of the AI sidebar. > [!NOTE] > **ℹ️** **Note** > > The Chats you have with the Agents are only visible to you. ## Allow and manage web search You can allow the Modeler, Analyst and Custom Agents to search the web for external information. Only Security Administrators can configure this setting for Members at Workspace level: 1. In any of the Workspace’s Applications, open Settings, the three-dot menu, from the sidebar. 2. Select **All settings**, then **Security** under **Workspace Settings**. 3. Under **AI web search**, select **Enable web search for this Workspace**. 4. If you agree with the legal statement in the dialog that pops up, select **Agree and enable**. 5. (*Optional*) You can choose to restrict the Agents’ web search to certain domains. For this, toggle on **Restrict search to approved domains (allowlist)**. Select **+ Add domain** to specify the approved domains or subdomains. > [!NOTE] > **ℹ️** **Note** > > If domain restrictions are toggled **off**, all Member web search queries are read and analyzed by the Agent. If a query is deemed at risk of revealing sensitive information, the Agent requests specific approval by the Member before searching the web. > > If domain restrictions are toggled **on**, web search queries are not analyzed by the Agent. ### How web search works Once web search has been enabled at Workspace level as above, Members need to do as follows: 1. In your Application, [start a chat in the AI sidebar](/v1/docs/pigment-agents#activate-and-manage-the-agents). 2. Select the **+** in the chat input field. 3. Toggle on **Web search** (see image below). This selection persists per Member until that Member updates the setting. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/e47cfe35-dc28-40c7-a083-6cf003073d8e/Images/Documentation/image(371).png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-26T15%3A08%3A37Z&se=2026-10-26T16%3A08%3A37Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=WEAQP4aKIUhvO3BiUSHq072bICPmLxXlUm4TKuPT%2BHg%3D) The Agents search the web if you explicitly ask them to, or if the information requested is clearly extraneous to your Pigment model. However, if the Agent assesses that the information may be found within your model, it searches within Pigment first. ## Agents covering Pigment’s previous AI features The previous features have been replaced as follows: | Previous feature | Agent replacement | | --- | --- | | Analyst Agent, Data Assistant, Insights | Analyst Agent or Custom Agent | | Documentation Assistant | Documentation Agent or Custom Agent | | Navigation Assistant | Analyst Agent or Custom Agent | ## The next Agents in development To see what Pigment is planning in the AI space and in other parts of the platform, see the [Pigment Roadmap](https://www.pigment.com/roadmap).
